Welcome to Ms. Natalie Sweeney's Class web site. We are a 1st grade class of eager learners. We are all busy learning to read lots of different books, write our thoughts, and manipulate numbers in all sorts of situations. Through many themes, based on the children's interest, our class becomes involved in learning many interesting facts and developing many great ideas.

We learn so much in our class. Our class learns to cooperate and work together in many different situations. We work in small groups, big groups, and individually to do many different activities in all areas of study through the day. We use center activities to practice concepts we are learning. We work both in and out of the classroom. Our class makes observations inside, outside, and on many field trips. We read and write together and on our own. We also learn many math concepts and practice them in many situations throughout the day. Our class goes to many activities outside the classroom to enhance our learning. We go to related arts classes: Spanish, P.E., Art, and Music each week. Also, we use laptops to learn some basic computer skills and play some games to reinforce our concepts we are working on. We go to the library as a class every week. Our class enjoys many field trips, guest speakers, and celebrations too. We are very busy learning in a fun and exciting way!
