Mary is an accomplished educator whose background includes more than 30 years of combined experience as a principal, teacher, and media specialist, director of curriculum and instruction, and educational consultant. She is married to Fred Woods, and has three children Fred Woods Jr., Latrice Morgan and Bryan Woods.

Mary is exceptionally energetic and enthusiastic! Her high expectations and knowledge of state and national standards ensure quality education for all children. Mary is a Cum Laude graduate of Benedict College, further studies at the University of New York and Furman University, and she received her Master's degree from the University of South Carolina.

Some of her professional awards & achievements include: Former Principal of Taylors Elementary School; Led Taylors Elementary School to receive "Palmetto's Finest Award', the highest public school award in South Carolina; Led Taylors Elementary School to receive "National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award" the highest public school award in the Nation; Recipient of "National Distinguished Principal" Award; Recipient of "The Order of Palmetto", the only South Carolina Principal to win

Taylors Elementary Library named in her honor "Mary Woods Media Center"; Book written depicting her life as educator Leading a School to Excellence; Director of Curriculum and Instruction Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Inc.

Recently, Mrs. Woods designed and coordinated the Bethlehem Christian Academy, where she serves as the Executive Director. The Academy is the first and the best of its kind in the Nation. Her favorite quote: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
